Actually the rules have changed: 14 and up can audition and perform, and anyone is eligible to receive the Dream Ticket. It lasts two years and if someone is over age or from out of the country, they can sign it off one time to someone eligible.

I DID THAT! AHH! It was such a rush. They give you a vocal coach and hair and makeup. I sang Natural Woman. I didn’t make it to the finale, but performing in the prelimary was AMAZING.

Ages 14-28 can audition and perform. But only 16-28 are eligible to receive the Dream Ticket. That ticket entitles you to skip the lines ONLY for the first round of auditions (that is the producers, NOT Randy, Simon, Kara, etc.)
Read the Rules PPL! lol

yea i was wrong, you basically get to cut the line, and if you are under 16 you can either give it to sum1 or hld on to it until you are 16, you basically get to go first for an audition you still needa audition tho

Well the guy said that you get a ticket to get at the front of the line for an American Idol audition.

i think you only win a ticket to go SEE a taping of AI i dont htink you get like a free pass for an audition

How can you be 14 if you have to be at least 16 to audition on Idol?
