These days the most popular shows on television are reality TV shows. Toping the charts right now are the shows Dancing with the Stars and American Idol. There are various reasons that people speculate for their success, but despite what these reasons are the shows are raking in the money for their producers and the networks that they air on so viewers are very likely to see more of each of these shows in the future. So, make sure you have your satellite TV DVRs set to watch this week.
For those of you who are unfamiliar, American Idol and Dancing with the Stars are reality TV game shows where contestants compete for the best performance. There are a panel of celebrity judges who are either experts in the field or are qualified to judge in some other way who rate the performers, and then the audience watching in America is asked to text message their votes at the end of the shows to vote for their favorite contestant. AS you can imagine, Dancing with the Star’s contestants are celebrities who are competing in a dancing competition. Celebrities have varying degrees of dancing experience, which can either help them or hurt them. Some of the people who watch the show, or at least who make comments on the show, feel that Dancing with the Stars should have more or an even playing field in that they pit a former comedian up against a signer-dancer. There is a clear disadvantage to the people who are not famous for dancing for famous for some kind or athletic sport that involves dancing, but that hasn’t stopped producers from casting stars who are famous for this. American Idol is a reality game show about people in America who dream of one day making it big as a signer and having a record deal. Idol has made a lot of people famous from being on the show whether they win the whole thing or not, and people love to watch the young talent on the show. The Idol contestants are selected from thousands who try out at the competitions all over the country and the panelists and the American public vote each week to narrow it down to the final singer standing. So as you can see, the shows are very different, but there are a lot of similarities so it’s not that hard of a stretch of the imagination to see why they are both popular right now. Because of their popularity, it might be nice to turn your satellite broadband into one or both of the shows this week to see what they are all about for yourself. That is, if you aren’t already one of the millions of people across America who tune into the show weekly when it is aired in the evening.
The public can expect to see more shows and programming similar to Dancing with the Stars and American Idol, so plan your satellite TV DVR systems accordingly.
